As the year closes, I’m reflecting on where I was this time last year and where I am today. In December of 2021, I had just been let go from my health care job after four years of fighting a disability because I made a personal medical decision to decline the COVID vaccine. That decision was definitely the right decision for me, but came at a great cost. This job meant a lot because I previously thought I would never be able to work again. In addition, California was still under a state-wide mask-mandate, most places required a vaccine passport and seeing little children masked up daily took a toll on my mood. Also, my beloved cat Lorenzo had just died. I found him outside after he was attacked by what we think was a local mountain lion. He was one of my biggest healers when I was bed-ridden for 3.5 years with severe nerve pain. I spent a lot of time isolated, but my pets were always by my side, so that loss was particularly difficult. In addition, my relationship with my family was strained because they didn’t approve of my personal choices that were against what the mainstream media was telling them. The sadness, grief and feelings of powerlessness were overwhelming.

After sitting in despair for a short time, I picked myself up and realized that I was in a special position. I was a mental health expert who was awake to the global lies and with a lot less to lose than others. I felt like I had a calling, that it’s possible I was displaced so many times for a reason. I started making Instagram reels on the transgender issue, COVID mandates, critical race theory and the reinforcement of victim mentality in the mental health realm. My original IG account was hacked in April and that was when “The Truthful Therapist” was born. My new account quickly got the attention from bigger influencers like Buck Angel and “The Gay who Strayed”, Jamiee Mitchel who went on to create Gays Against Groomers. I also linked up with Seak Smith who built the international organization known as MOM Army. Don Johnson, the Dysconnected film maker, found me after only a few weeks of being on twitter and recruited me to be featured in his beautiful film. He said he had asked over 25 like-minded therapists and they declined out of fear. Also, A local Bay Area parent from the group parents of ROGD kids invited me to a dinner at film maker Jennifer Lahl’s home where she hosted Canadian father, Chris Elston, otherwise known as “Billboard Chris”.

In July, I attended the Mom's for Liberty summit and that was an incredible experience. I connected with Adam Coleman, an amazing writer and founder of Wrong Speak. His book From Black Victim to Black Victor is inspirational. I also formed friendships with the New Discourses team, and had fun hanging out with James Lindsay who was playfully nicknamed “The Lady Killer” that weekend by Tiffany Justice, one of the founders of Mom’s for Liberty because he was so friendly. I also connected with Deb Fillman, who is blowing the whistle on how horrible SEL (Social Emotional Learning) in the public schools is. I had fun hanging out with her teenage daughter during the conference. Her Youtube channel is called The Reason We Learn. I also met Alan Lui, founder of Courage is a Habit with tools for parents to fight indoctrination in schools. I connected with Jay Richards from The Heritage Foundation and Ryan Helfenbein of Liberty University. Plus, I met many moms and dads fighting for their children and for the future of our country.

In September, I flew to Arizona to spend time with the ladies of Mom Army. We all stayed in a fancy Air BnB in Scottsdale. It was an amazing experience where we were able to make genuine connections and get to know each other intimately and learn why we are all in this war to fight for our children.

In September, I also saw the premiere of Jennifer Lahl’s incredible documentary Detransition Diaries: Saving our Sisters in the East Bay of San Francisco, California. There I met more parents directly impacted by gender ideology.
Fast forward to October where I attended the “Do No Harm Rally” in Anaheim, CA. The rally was organized by Erin Friday, a very passionate mom fighting against the unethical gender medicine practices supported by the American Pediatric Association. That evening, I was treated like a movie star at the Dysconnected movie premiere. A week later, I spoke at Kellie Jay Keen’s “Let Women Speak” rally in San Francisco. Her documentary on this event will be released on her YouTube channel soon.
And just last week I was able to be a part MOM Army’s table at Turning Point USA’s AMFEST. We sat next to the incredible Gays Against Groomers and I met so many people I admire.
I also want to add that I’ve always been very self conscious about public speaking, yet I’ve done several interviews. Some of my hosts include Megan Murphy, Buck Angel, Bizzie Gold, Matt Antar, my Dysconnected co-star and founder of Advocates Protecting Children, Erin Brewer, fellow therapist Stephanie Winn, Ryan Heath of The Gavel Project, Sienna Mae Heath of Free the People, outspoken teacher Will Reush, The Amber and Joe Show, Politics and Pilsners podcast, Simon Esler, The Epoch Times, MOM Army, and I was just on a local TV talk show in North Dakota, Ladies of Another View!
I’m just getting started. I hope my journey is an example of how you can turn a bad situation into something meaningful. I went from being disabled, mostly bed-ridden and fighting doctors who didn’t believe me for almost four years, to being an important voice to help save our children and our country. You never know what life will bring.
PS: We have a new kitten that has brought light to our home. This is Kira kitten. Merry Christmas. Happy Chanukah. Happy New Year!
